How to Choose Men’s Perfume
January 26th, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feedperfume is not something that only women enjoy wearing. Men enjoy it as much and that is why there is large variety of men’s perfume. However, the reason why men use fragrances is different than the reason that women wear perfume. Men use after shave as disinfectant and to close the pores and heal eventual cuts, more than just enhance their natural body odor.
The amount of alcohol determines how men’s perfume is classified. In some cases it can be 75% for an aftershave or a cologne and it is generally applied directly on the face after shaving. Eau de toilette usually contains 50% alcohol and Eau de perfume 75%. Usually perfume house don’t create 100% perfume for men but there are some exceptions. It is not advisable to purchase a men’s perfume for someone you don’t know much about because it is likely that he will never use it should the fragrance not suit his style or personality. If you know the man even slightly, you will be able to guide yourself to purchasing a suitable men’s perfume in no time; here is what you should consider.
Guidelines to Purchasing a Men’s perfume
The first thing to consider when shopping for men’s perfume is the type of fragrance he uses everyday; you can ask him discretely or guide yourself by the fragrance tones from the perfume he wears. The next important thing to consider is whether you are purchasing an everyday perfume or one specific to a time of the year or occasion, for example, in winter men and women will wear stronger perfumes and in summer, lighter, fresher types. Last but not least, it would help to know if the person for whom you are purchasing the man’s perfume is allergic to any ingredient so, you can avoid it in your purchase. Try and purchase a small men’s perfume of 50ml or 30ml when not sure what to buy or a gift set where there are a few other choices available as well such as, face moisturizes and gels so he can use them in case the perfume was not suitable.
Additional Help
Choosing a perfume for your husband or partner is not hard at all. You can usually choose what you like. In most cases men just like women are happy when their partner enjoys the perfume they are wearing provided that the fragrance is not too different to what they are used to wearing. Be sure to try the fragrance that you are looking to purchase on a piece of paper.
It is a good idea to guide yourself by considering his present job and his personality.

Gucci: From Italian Fashion Leather to Perfume
January 15th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedA small family business grew to become the huge Gucci fashion line . It had relatively humble beginnings and originally sold leather goods. Gucci became one of the giants in the fashion industry at the hand of Guccio Gucci, who founded the Gucci saddlery shop in 1906.
It was later in 1938 that Gucci opened its first boutique. Eventually, Guccio Gucci’s initials (GG) became one of the most recognized symbols of this line in the 1960s. Gucci perfume was an offshoot of the famous brand, and it seems to be a fairly common practice these days for fashion lines to branch out into the perfume industry.
Smells Like Leather?
Gucci got into perfume during the 1990s, and you can find both men’s and women’s fragrances. Even the packaging seems suitably fashionable, with clean lines & the GG logo in pink on the packaging for the Gucci women’s perfume called Envy Me. This particular perfume by Gucci has a lot of interesting accents such as pomegranate, pink pepper, pineapple, and litchi.
It also contains sandalwood, musk, and floral scents. Envy Me retails for around $82 for 3.4 ounces of their eau de toilette. For men who desire a strong scent, the Pour Homme Eau De Toilette is available at around $62 for 3.4 ounces and one of its notes is, of course, leather. Envy for Men is also available, as is a limited edition perfume by Gucci for women called Envy Me2.
Suffice it to say that you can generally find discounted perfumes at various websites, so you should always do a Google search before purchasing your Gucci perfume at a major retailer’s website. You never know what bargains you might find after all!
Another nice scent to try is the Gucci Eau de Parfum II, which has a lot of fruit in it with notes like blackberry and mandarin, along with nice floral touches like jasmine and heliotrope. Being an eau de parfum, it is more expensive than the eau de toilette.
It retails for around $65 for 1.7 ounces, so if you wanted 3.4 ounces (compared to the Envy Me Eau de Toilette at $82) it would run you around $130. The reason for the price difference is that eau de parfum contains a higher concentration of perfume oils.
For an eau de parfum, the fragrance should contain 8-15% perfume oil, and eau de toilette will have between 4-10% perfume oil in it. ..to conclude this article on Gucci perfume.
